Year 9 on Campus
On Friday, 75 Year 9 students had the opportunity to spend the day on-campus at the University of Sunderland. This is a follow-up to the sessions delivered by the university in school about decision making and money matters. The students walked to the campus to show how close the university is to school. On arrival, students took part in an ice-breaker task followed by a workshop on ‘Why University?’. The students were then in 3 groups to take part in a carousel of activities, including: Building Resilience workshop, Patient Assessment Centre visit to find out more about the roles of doctors and healthcare professionals, and a Campus Tour led by Student Ambassadors. The day was a great opportunity to give students first hand experience of what they have been learning in school about life at university during their Personal Development lessons.
