Southmoor Academy Student Council
Our student council meets every week to discuss ideas and take suggestions on ways to improve the school for everyone. Council meetings are overseen by our staff liaisons to the council who are Mrs. Melleftont & Mr. Wareham. It is the job of council members to communicate pressing issues or ideas from their peers to our senior leadership so that we might better understand and act upon what really matters to our young people.
Council members also act as ambassadors to the school, welcoming important guests and representing us at selective events both inside and our of school.
Council members are elected each year by their peers, who receive a vote on who they would like to represent them as well as a separate vote for the sixth form pupils they would like to be their Head Students.
