The Southmoor Scholars visited Newcastle University last week. We traveled by the metro, and the students amazed to find out how easy the travel was – the university is right on the doorstep of Haymarket!

We took part in a range of activities, including a budgeting game, a ‘guess the society’ game and a ‘design your own timetable’ activity. Students explored the university on a campus tour, and we visited the engineering department, gym, library and accommodation. All students were allocated a student ambassador for the day, and enjoyed finding out about student life from their perspective.
