Help with History is a new feature that is being introduced by the History Department at Southmoor, using the expertise of AQA exam markers to help GCSE students improve their grades in History by practicing exam questions. Each short video will cover an exam question, the mark scheme and how to answer it, with help and guidance from Mr Wood. Pupils will be shown the success ladder for how to answer the questions and what the examiner will expect to see to reach the highest possible mark for each question and how to avoid the common traps that pupils fall into when answering exam questions. New videos will be posted regularly with the links to them in the blog. Stay tuned for more.
General Help & Study Advice
We highly recommend you check out the Year 11 Revision Hub. In the run-up to the first mock exams, your teachers have prepared an exam revision timetable that consists of three styles of revision: online resources, pre-recorded audio revision PowerPoints and a selection of Google Meet live sessions. Do some English and Maths every day, then locate History and access the resource from your Google Classroom login. To get you started, please watch Mr Wright’s guide to memory and learning.
