We welcomed our final employer into school to present to our Year 10 students as part of the ‘Building My Skills’ programme with Esh Group. Marc Millar is a financial advisor with North Wealth Management, part of St James’s Place Wealth Management. Marc presented his career pathway and how he got involved in the financial sector. He talked to students about the importance of possessing a good set of employability skills and that a strong work ethic and a good attitude are particularly important. In the next Checkpoint task, students will be looking at productivity and what it takes to run a small business. Students will look at how to budget and the strategies needed to overcome the challenges of costs. Later in the year, we are looking forward to some students taking part in an employability and mock interview day with Esh Group.
