Green Fingered Students Pitch In
Since February students have been working alongside members of Sunderland Community Action Group to support the renovation of the garden at United Roker Reform Church. Our young people have worked alongside members of the local community to learn new gardening and woodwork skills to build two raised beds. They also pruned and sawed their way through four large trees whilst digging and weeding areas to support the ongoing management of the garden for residents to enjoy. Local community members have praised the help and support the young people have provided – so much so that each session the students are provided with freshly homemade fruit scones with jam and cream as a thank you!
This is an ongoing project and if any pupils would like to get involved please see a member the S.C.A.G. team in the Youth Hub.
