School Council Join The Debate

Seven members of the Student Council attended the annual ‘State of the City’ debate at the City Council Chambers. This Sunderland Youth Parliament event debated topics including Mental Health, A Curriculum for Life, Transportation, LGBT issues and Work Experience. Southmoor pupils gave some really detailed and insightful points of view before all students involved voted for the one issue that would be taken forward to the Youth Parliament debate in London.  The topic scoring the most votes was ‘Protect LGBT+’.
