Children’s Mental Health Week
Last week’s Aspire Theme of the Week is ‘Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week‘. During assemblies, Mrs Mellefont welcomed a representative from Kooth into school to speak to students about the online platform that all students have access to if they need support with their mental health. The Kooth platform gives students the opportunity to learn more about ways to boost their wellbeing, and also a tool for free, safe and anonymous support. Kooth has advisors available to talk with young people during the day and on a Saturday. In Aspire AM, students had the opportunity to explore further the Zones of Regulation that were introduced in the first week of this term and linked this to mental well-being.
Finally, pupils in Year 7 also had the chance to write each other kind messages on luggage tags before sharing them with each other over break time.
