Celebrating British Science Week 2024
Last week we celebrated British Science Week. The annual week of celebrations also coincided with our science careers week.
During form time, students considered how this year’s theme, “time”, linked to science before looking at how our opinions of smoking and views of scientists have changed over time.
Within lessons, students also completed a range of activities. Some classes looked at the future of transport and creatively designed more sustainable methods of transport whilst other classes morphed into a food chain to discover how bioaccumulation occurs over time! We even had some students who created timelines for the history of the universe! As always, the British Science Week poster competition was also introduced. The poster should fit around the theme (time) and be as creative as possible!
We also had some special visitors for British Science Week – the lovely Year 6 classes from Grangetown Primary School! On Wednesday, Miss Maddison helped them to investigate how the time of day affects the size of the shadow produced!
We’ve had a fantastic week – thank you to everybody who was involved!
