On Tuesday morning, we were delighted to welcome the BAE Systems, RAF and Royal Navy STEM Roadshow into school to deliver worshops to Years 7 and 8 students. The theme of the workshops this year was ‘From the depths of the oceans to outer space’. During the session, students had the opportunity to find out more about the engineering challenges that are faced when travelling to the most inhospitable places and discover some of the innovative solutions to these problems. In a highly interactive session, students were able to see the importance of good communication skills and some students discovered more about teamwork in a challenge to arrange the planets in order from the Sun. Finally, a gigantic sun made an appearance to show how small our planet actually is compared to the size of the sun.
