In April selected students in Years 7 and 8 took part in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge 2021 where they were challenged to answer problem solving and reasoning questions on various mathematical topics. Students have received their certificates for the challenge last week. We had an impressive set of results with two Year 8 students – Jasmine Williamson and Callum Reid – qualifying to represent Southmoor Academy in the Junior Kangaroo Challenge in June. A special mention goes to Jasmine Williamson (Year 8) and Owen Brown (Year 7) who were awarded best in their year group. Well done to all students who took part.
