SMSC Theme of the Week
In assembly and form time, students discovered more about the importance of Mental Health leading up to World Mental Health Day on Sunday 10 October. In assembly, Mrs Bagshaw discussed the importance of ‘Ask Twice’. Many people experience a mental health problem, so if someone says that they’re fine, they might not be. By asking them for a second time ‘how are you?’, you can make all the difference. In form time, students found out more about what Mental Health actually is and about different places that they can go to seek help. We have a very comprehensive page on our school website which signposts students and parents to places where they can seek support for mental health.
We also had a representative from Kooth join us to speak to our Year 7 students about the services Kooth offered and the help and advice they can provide to young people in order to support their well being. You can learn more about Kooth by clicking here.
