Earlier this year we were delighted to host Prof Arlene Holmes-Henderson MBE, Professor of Classics Education and Public Policy of Department of Classics and Ancient History at Durham University who is undertaking a research project involving the importance of oracy skills in schools. Prof Holmes observed and participated in some of our lessons  and was even documented by the University with a video of her at work in our school. You can watch the video from Durham University here, which includes footage taken in classes at Southmoor and where she talks about her British Academy Innovation Fellowship and how her research on oracy, social mobility and employability is impacting education in schools.
