Magnificent Mathematicians
Forty mathematicians from Year 7 and 8 took part in the Junior Maths Challenge, a national examination to test the most able with a variety of mathematical problems. We are delighted that over half of the students entered were awarded a bronze, silver or gold certificate. The awards go to the top 40% of participants so this is a fantastic achievement.
The top performing students were Sarah Jasas, Matthew Alcock, Alice Ward (all from Year 8), James Elliott and Jack Stead (from Year 7). Jack performed especially well as he qualified for the Kangaroo Maths Challenge which is for students in the top 5% nationally. A huge well done to all who took part!
