World Record Poetry
On Thursday 3rd October, we celebrated National Poetry Day in style! Pupils from Years 8 and 9 had the opportunity to explore this year’s theme of what ‘counts’ to them and what they think is important. Some pupils performed their poem for their class, with some pupils even rapping their work! But the celebrations didn’t stop there… Pupils in Year 7 participated in a live online workshop with famous poet, Laura Mucha, and attempted to break the Guinness World Record for largest poetry lesson. Southmoor students joined over 250,000 pupils from across 1800 different schools nationwide to create one poem. We can’t wait to find out if the Record attempt was successful. Well done and Congratulations to all who took part.
