Last Wednesday we had the opportunity to take 12 girls, from y7-9, to the Cyber First girls event at NuCastle. The event was focussed on getting more girls excited about  careers in the cyber industry. The sessions included programming robots, designing a new chat bot and a Q and A with the cyber technology course leader from North Carolina University. It was an extra special surprise when Southmoor alumni Jenny Sopp, who is now an account executive at Microsoft, was leading one of the sessions!

There were three competitions running throughout the day: A cyber security Quiz, robot race and to design the best AI ChatBot, all three of which were won by Southmoor students!  Well Done to all of the girls involved!
